Photo's, mostly running stuff...

Back when all of this running around started, I decided one day to go for a bit of a snowshoe hike. I never made it to the shelter that day, but in the summer months, this little out and back has become one of my favourite places to get away.

The dining area AND deck seen here have come a LONG way, thanks mostly to the visions and efforts of this lady here, my wife, Tracey. (picture taken in 2004?)

How could I NOT post some pictures of Bryce? Here he is in his blueberry outfit. He has a hat made of the same material that he calls his "blueberry hat". He still wears it!

Little dude loved to sit on the counter and watch us do dishes. Now he likes to help us with them. In a few years, he won't even want to get near the dishes.

One summer I had the brilliant idea of flying my Tibetan prayer flags from every peak that i ran up. This one wasn't a bald peak, but it sure was windy that day. (Mt. Cube, NH)

As seen along the Mt. Cube trail.

This photo won 3rd place in a local photo contest. It was the first contest that I had ever entered.

One of my favourite pictures of the B-man.

Mt. Ascutney. A nice hill with a distinct profile about 20 miles from our house. Used to have a ski area, but this year they closed it. Too bad, too, because it is a great family mountain.

Middle Dude, Zach, getting ready for his first 1 Mile Fun Run. I think he's still asleep....
Here he is, middle, front row, waiting for the start gun. Go ZACH!

Remember the aforementioned Mt. Ascutney? They have a race to the top every year. I have done it once. It was the only year that the last mile was on trails, and finished at the actual top of the mountain. It took me just over an hour to run/hike/walk the four or so miles.

First ever Half Marathon race bib!!

First ever DNF race bib!!

The DNF was disappointing, to be sure, but the race was still quite a bit of fun. Big BIG shout out to Tracey and Bryce for coming out to cheer me on. I didn't like not finishing in front of them, but they still love me, so....

I really, really liked being bald, but Tracey didn't see it the same way. We know how that goes, right? So yes, I have hair again, and always will. Until, of course, genetics take over and I lose it for real.

I went to Bean Town in 2010 to watch The Race. I got there plenty early and found a great spot to stand, just about 200M from the finish line. A friend of mine, who's hubs was racing, ended up being right across the street! Amazing. (she's just out of frame in Ryan's photo, above.) It was a fantastic day. I just missed a blogger meet up with Morgan and her peeps. Maybe in 2011.
By the grace of one of the docs at the hospital where I work, a friend and I were able to get late entries into the race, which was my second Half Marathon. I managed to set a new PR here, and was hoping to be able to get in for 2011. I didn't get in during the regular registration, but that doc still works at the same hospital that i do...

YAY! Thank you, Katie, for taking these pictures of me. Tracey and Bryce were down in Baltimore the weekend of the race, so it was cool to have some pictures to show them.
During the fall months, Zachary plays football. This usually gives me time to run. I don't always take advantage of that time, but when I do, Bryce likes to come along. Here he is, loaded with dinner and ready to go.
On September 11th, 2010, Bryce and I joined my sister and her son (that's her on the far right) in a 10k event to raise awareness for the Vermont Fallen Soldiers Memorial. It was a very moving event. We ended up acting as sweepers to make sure that all Soldiers finished. The kids loved it, and B-man got his first race tech-t shirt out of the deal!

B asked a lot of questions, and was very, very respectful.

On a much lighter note, thanks to twitter and Tracey, Bryce and I were able to catch a few glimpses of Lance, which was cool. I've never been around that kind of celebrity ruckus. Bryce still talks about it. Ah, creating lasting memories!
By far my favourite event was the 2010 Turkey Trot in Woodstock, VT. We had a plan; B and I would start running together, then he would jump into the stroller, and then jump out before the finish so that we could finish together. So much for plans. He wasn't feeling well at all and it was only 28 degrees that day. Tracey had a great idea that we would start and end together, but the middle would find Bryce waiting with Tracey in the warm, cozy truck. THAT plan worked like a charm! Typical of Tracey's ideas.

start.....

....to finish.
